Everyone Church is committed to protecting the privacy of an individual’s information. Our Privacy Policy can be viewed by clicking here.

WHY THIS FORM?
Although Everyone Church has legal processes for volunteers to go through, many of these processes don't always address our local church culture and activities specifically. This form is designed to be focused on where you are looking to volunteer within our church. We honour your interest and as a church we want to best serve you on your journey toward volunteering in Everyone Church!

If YES, our Child Protection Policy requires 2 character references for those who wish to volunteer in any child related roles. Please list their names & contact numbers below. Also explain how they know you.

Do you have any medical conditions or allergies that our team need to be aware of?

Let us know your skills and interests so we can present options to you. We also welcome ideas for areas of service that don't currently exist!

Everyone Church Volunteer Conduct & Character Expectations

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Everyone Church.

It is important to understand that your volunteering, though expressed by serving someone or something, is really and truly service to and for the Lord.

Colossians 3:23-25 says, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”

Our hope is that as you find a role to volunteer in that you enjoy & energises you! As a church we also aim to have joy and excellence in everything we do.

In undertaking to serve I hereby agree to:

  • Actively pursue spiritual growth and the character of Christ.
  • Maintain active prayer and Bible study.
  • Maintain faithful attendance at regularly scheduled services (not just attending only when I am rostered on)
  • Make every effort to live an exemplary life before God and people.
  • Uphold and support Everyone Church's values and beliefs.
  • Speak well of the church and of fellow believers.
  • Address any conflict that might arise with Christian character and with Biblical solutions.

Child Protection Protocols

As part of the ACC Volunteer Code of Conduct you will have agreed to uphold integrity with your interactions with others. Everyone Church specifically requires you to adhere to the following protocols whilst in your volunteer role:

1. You should not be alone with a child at any time, unless this child is your own. Always have another unrelated adult with you, (eg not your spouse, sister) OR have other children with you.
2. You cannot take children to the toilet alone. Take another unrelated adult with you to direct the child to the toilet. Check the toilets do not have other adults inside before directing the child to go in. Do not assist the child with toileting unless the age of the child means assistance is required. In such instances, ensure you are accountable to another unrelated adult. Document any concerns/incidents you have, if you need to assist children with toileting.
3. You cannot actively seek touching or hugging from children or have children sit on your lap. You cannot wrestle with or tickle children. Children seeking hugs should not be rejected but hugs are to be to the side and not prolonged. You must keep your interactions to commonly accepted public expressions of friendship.
4. You may not counsel or pray with children alone. Any altar or follow-up ministry with children must be done in the full view of others.
5. You may not hit or yell at any child. Make positive requests of children should you need to. For example: “Let’s do this now” is more positive than “Do you want to do this?”
6. You must not photograph or video children, or upload photos or video of children to any social media or internet forum or share images with others, without parental consent. If you have taken photos on behalf of Everyone Church on your personal device, you must delete these photos.
7. You must report any behaviour you think is inappropriate by any other person in regards to children. Child abuse is a crime and we must not try to cover it up in the hope of not bringing disgrace to the church. You must report concerns only to the Safer Churches officer, or call the ACC abuse hotline for advice: 1800 070 511
